Favorite teams
Favorite teams lets the panel follow up to 16 teams from any league, in the order you choose. Between games it cycles through them. When a favorite’s game is about to start, that game takes the panel until it’s over.
Setting up your list
Section titled “Setting up your list”On the device page, open the Favorites card and tap Add a favorite. The team chooser opens; tap a team to add it to the end of the list. Each row has buttons to move the team up or down and to remove it. The Game Day app edits the same list.
The order is the priority. Higher teams win when two games clash (unless you choose Alternate, below), and the first four are buttons 1 to 4 on a WizMote remote. The page marks those four with their button number.
Then tap Favorite teams under the board to switch the panel to it. The list is kept when you switch to another mode and back.
Between games: the playlist
Section titled “Between games: the playlist”When none of your favorites has a game on, the panel shows each favorite’s card in turn, 10 seconds each, in list order, and starts again from the top. A card is that team’s next game, its game in progress, or its last final.
- Only today’s games keeps the playlist to favorites that play today, by the panel’s clock, or are playing now. A new panel starts with it on.
- Outside football, a team whose next game is more than 10 days away, or whose last game was more than 10 days ago, drops out of the playlist as out of season. Football teams never drop out, so a bye week doesn’t hide one.
- If those rules would leave nothing to show, the panel loosens them one at a time, first today only and then the season rule, so it never sits on a blank board while it has cards.
The bar under the mode buttons on the device page says Cycling through your favorites.
When a game is on
Section titled “When a game is on”A favorite’s game takes the panel, or locks on, from a set time before kickoff until a set time after the final. The bar says Locked on and the team’s name.
| Setting | What it does | Starts at |
|---|---|---|
| Take over | How many minutes before kickoff the game takes the panel, 5 to 120. A game with no kickoff time yet locks on once it starts. | 15 minutes |
| After the final | How long the final stays up before the playlist comes back, 30 seconds to 60 minutes. | 30 seconds |
| Two games at once | Stick with the higher team shows the favorite higher in your list. Alternate switches between the games every set number of minutes. | Alternate on a new panel |
The minutes for Alternate are the same setting as Switch every in Live games, so changing one changes the other.
Panels set up before Favorite teams could alternate keep Stick with the higher team until you change it.
Using the remote
Section titled “Using the remote”Buttons 1 to 4 on a paired WizMote jump to your first four favorites. In Favorite teams, the panel shows that favorite’s card at once. If its game is locked on, the panel stays on it; otherwise the card stays up for its 10 seconds and the playlist carries on from there. A button for an empty slot does nothing. See WizMote remote.
On the device page
Section titled “On the device page”The Up next list under the board has one row per favorite: the live score, the final, or the next kickoff and TV channel. The row the panel is showing is highlighted. No game scheduled means ESPN lists no game for that team.
If none of your favorites has any game scheduled, the board shows a clock in your first favorite’s colors. See Show: My team, Favorite teams, Live games.
